About the Artist: Aidan Rose Palmer

Aidan Rose Palmer is a porcelain potter from Williston, VT. Inspired throughout her life by a love of the natural world and with a passion for working with her hands, Aidan began crafting ceramics in 2020. She is self-taught and designs her pieces through creativity, determination, and an enjoyment of learning deeply. Aidan is one of the few potters in Vermont still making clay: a beautiful self-designed porcelain. All pieces are made from this handmade porcelain. Aidan also loves ceramic chemistry. All of her glazes are self-designed, from simple craze-free glossy ones to wild crystallines. All glazes are created to be durable and functional for everyday use. I love the process of crafting pottery, from making porcelain clay to sculpting pieces with my hands. I love elegant, floral-inspired forms with a high level of detail. My ceramics are inspired by the natural world I work in, from the bogs and marshes with their beautiful reds, auburns, and lime greens, to the plants I enjoy finding in the spring, like pitcher plants and orchids. My work evokes the whimsical and playful. |
